Pipo, an endearing little dog who is finally waiting for his family, a joint adoption with Cara

Its identity

Pipo is an adorable little Terrier mix dog, born on June 1, 2015. It weighs about 7 kg and measures nearly 40 cm at the withers. He is sterilized, vaccinated and the results of his test for leishmaniasis are pending. Despite his age, he is in good health. However, he exhibits a stereotypical behavior, probably related to the long years spent in shelters.

Its history

Pipo was abandoned in the street before being taken in by the association. Since then, more than two years have passed behind the gates of the refuge.

Time passes, the dogs arrive, others leave... but Pipo is still waiting. He now lives in the animal protection offices with Cara, another little black dog with whom he is very close. Both understand each other perfectly and their mutual presence reassures them on a daily basis.

Like so many other forgotten dogs, Pipo simply dreams that someone will finally stop at him.

His character

Pipo is a sociable, affectionate and pleasant dog to live with. It enjoys the company of humans and willingly seeks caresses and moments of tenderness.

The many years spent at the shelter have unfortunately left their mark on his behaviour. It has stereotypy, a disorder that is sometimes encountered in dogs that have lived for a long time in a stressful environment or low in stimulation. However, this behavior does not define Pipo: with a calm environment, patience and a stable family life, he will be able to return to a much more serene daily life.

Behind this fragility hides a small dog full of sweetness who is just waiting to be loved.

His agreements

Pipo gets along very well with dogs, both males and females. His beautiful complicity with Cara shows that he enjoys the company of his fellow creatures.

Its compatibility with cats has not yet been tested.

He is kind to humans, but due to his stereotypy, a home without young children will be preferable in order to provide him with a calmer and more reassuring environment.

His daily life

Pipo walks well on a leash and travels without difficulty by car.

After more than two years in refuge, he will need a peaceful home where he can find his bearings, a stable routine and a lot of kindness. A quiet house will allow him to regain confidence and finally enjoy the life he deserves.

The ideal family

Pipo is looking for patient and understanding adopters, ready to welcome a dog who bears the traces of his past but who still has immense potential for love.

A serene environment, without excessive agitation, will allow him to flourish fully. He can live with another balanced dog or be the only companion of the family if it is present enough.

After more than two years of waiting, Pipo finally deserves to leave the shelter for good. He asks for neither luxury nor wide open spaces, only a home where he can grow old surrounded by love, softness and security.

He will be placed sterilized, vaccinated, identified and dewormed. Tests for Mediterranean diseases are negative but the test for leishmaniasis will be redone in the event of an adoption request and will then have to be redone once a year, as the disease is endemic in Spain and can take several years to be detectable.
