Its identity

Nelson is a beautiful Belgian Shepherd born on July 1, 2024. It weighs about 25 kg and is 55 cm at the withers. He is neutered, vaccinated and in good health. Its leishmaniasis screening test will soon be updated.

Its history

Nelson was found wandering near a road, near the shelter, in the company of a Dachshund identified by microchip. The Dachshund was able to find his family, but Nelson, who had no identification, remained at the shelter.

Since that day, no one has come to claim it. Like so many other dogs, he is waiting for a new family to finally give him the chance he deserves.

His character

Nelson is an absolutely adorable dog. Contrary to the image often associated with Malinois, he has a particularly calm and composed temperament.

Very close to humans, he is constantly looking for presence and caresses. He is affectionate, gentle, and deeply attached to the people who care for him. His kindness touches everyone who meets him.

In recent weeks, the shelter has become particularly difficult for him. Nelson seems to be gradually losing his spirits. During walks, he does not ask to run or play. He prefers someone to sit next to him to offer him some affection. His greatest happiness is simply to feel a human presence at his side.

This silent distress shows how much he needs to quickly find the warmth of a home.

His agreements

Nelson is a very sociable dog.

He gets along perfectly with dogs, both male and female.

It is also compatible with cats.

Children are no problem for him and he is gentle and patient with them.

His daily life

Nelson walks well on a leash and enjoys walks.

His behavior in the house is not yet known, but his calm, balanced and human-like temperament suggests that he should adapt easily to family life.

Car journeys have not yet been tested.

The ideal family

Nelson is looking for a present, gentle and caring family, who will finally offer him the love and stability he so lacks.

It will suit both a family with children and people who want to share their daily life with a loyal, calm and extremely affectionate companion.

Today, Nelson does not ask for exploits or great adventures. He simply wants to find a family with whom he can feel loved, to lay his head against someone and never to know loneliness again.

He will be placed sterilized, vaccinated, identified and dewormed. Tests for Mediterranean diseases are negative but the test for leishmaniasis will be redone in the event of an adoption request and will then have to be redone once a year, as the disease is endemic in Spain and can take several years to be detectable.
